RESIDENTS at Boughton's Bishops Court Care Home can enjoy spending time outside after a transformation of their gardens.
Green-fingered staff carried out the work with help from relatives and residents to celebrate the news that Nottinghamshire County Council had decided to save the home — after initially saying it could be axed.

They launched the project to spruce up the gardens and four teams were set up to tackle different areas, which each had their own theme, including a colliery garden, four seasons garden and sensory garden.

92-year-old Gladys Esam, who is the oldest resident at the home, said: "I think the gardens are beautiful and the effort that has been made is absolutely super. They have given us a treat to look at."

To fund the transformation, staff raised £3,000 from car boot sales and book sales and Thoresby Colliery donated boots and helmets.
