SOUTHWELL Minster will be blossoming this summer as it gears up for a floral extravaganza with a huge flower festival called Celebration to mark its 900th anniversary.
The festival aims to draw in hundreds of visitors with more than 300 flower arrangers involved from the North Midlands Area of the National Association of Flower Arrangers.
The festival is being held over the bank holiday weekend and the Very Rev John Guille says it will be the highlight of the Minster's anniversary celebrations.
"I'm very grateful for all the hard work put in by the organisers and I know our visitors will not be disappointed –– it promises to be a breathtaking transformation for the cathedral," he said.
The Flower Festival is being held from 22nd-25th August. For further details visit
