A TOOLKIT aimed at helping organisations and clubs to promote sport to Nottinghamshire residents has been hailed as an 'invaluable' resource in the battle to get the county more active.
The Promoting Sport Toolkit, unveiled this week by Sport England, contains information on how to promote sport to different age groups, how to run events and examples of how other sports clubs and organisations have fulfilled their potential.
It w
ill also contain a free library of community sport images, a calendar of sporting events, a discussion forum and useful links for those seeking more information.
'How to' guides in the kit provide essential information on how to work with the media, how to encourage people to volunteer and how to use promotional techniques such as designing leaflets and adverts.
The guides, which draw on examples of how other sports clubs and organisations have promoted themselves, even highlight the Shape Up Notts! campaign as an example of good practice.
Speaking about the toolkit, spokesman Simon Starr said it would provide extensive resources to support and extend the campaign.
He said: "We welcome all resources that can potentially help our local sports infrastructure, such as the Promoting Sport Toolkit, which offers advice, information and examples of how we can best reach target audiences with a long term aim of increasing activity levels.
"The toolkit will enable us to improve the sharing of good practice throughout the County Sports Partnership (CSP) networks and allow our partners to capitalise on the resources at hand."
