AS part of their Exploring Africa multicultural pupil enrichment programme, Park Junior School, Shirebrook, invited staff of Sheffield restaurant UK Mama, to visit the school.
Chef Godson Ogwudire, right, and his team brought a range of exotic fruits and vegetables from all over Africa for the children to sample.

In the picture with him are pupils from left, Alex Adcock, Bree Nussey, Jordan Taylor, Sam Thompson and Joe McDonnell.

Parents were invited to join their children in this international taste experience and they had a delicious African meal prepared in front of them by the restaurant's cooks.

They were also treated to a session of limbo dancing and drumming using traditional African instruments.

Luke Bingham (10), said: "It was interesting trying new things…different fruits like pawpaw, mango and avocado."

The topic has been running since January and during that time visitors have come in to introduce the children to Baka music from Cameroon, indigenous artwork from west Africa and dancing from Senegal.

They have also designed their own dramatic masks to wear.
