YOUNGSTERS from Mansfield's King Edward Primary School test out the new i.play equipment at Spider Park in front of Mansfield district councillors Kate Allsop, Eddie Smith and Andrew Tristram.
The Berry Hill Road park is the first in the county to be fitted with the interactive play machines, which measure children's reaction times to hitting switches.
A play area for young children, a fitness challenge for older children and a wheelchair-friendly roundabout are also among the other facilities which have been introduced at the park.
Says Coun Smith, portfolio holder for the environment: "This park, the first of its kind in the county, is a fantastic facility.
"The range of play equipment at the new Spider Park is outstanding — there is something there for children of all ages and I am proud to have such a resource here in the Mansfield district."
Similar play equipment is also being installed at Carr Bank Park in the town.
