Discovering inner talents at Shine Festival

SCHOOLS from across the area will be able to see the fruits of their labour at the Shine Festival at Creswell Crags on Saturday –– where they will be able to discover their own creative inner talents.
Pupils from 24 Mansfield, Ashfield and Bolsover schools have been taking part in a variety of creative activities at the tourist hotspot since Monday, including photography, drama, visual arts and crafts, dance, filming and music.

Saturday's progr
amme runs from 12noon-3pm and includes the opportunity to share the pupils' creative experiences of the week –– organised by Creative Partnerships BAM –– enjoy a barbecue picnic in the Crags and take part in a creative treasure trail.

Said Chris Batstone, director of Creative Partnerships Bolsover, Ashfield and Mansfield: "Pupils and teachers will let their imaginations run free and produce work which showcases and celebrates the incredible depth of talent we have in the area.

"We are hoping there will be plenty of support for the young people on the Saturday when we are urging everyone to come along and share in a wonderful day of celebration at a stunning venue."

Shine Week is a national festival to celebrate the talent and achievements of young people across schools and organisations.
Schools taking part include: Intake Farm Primary School, Mansfield; Farmilo Primary School, Mansfield; Rosebrook Primary School, Mansfield; Brookfield Primary School, Langwith Junction; All Saints RC School, Mansfield; King Edward Primary and Nursery School, Mansfield; Newgate lane Primary School, Mansfield; Meden School and Technical College, Warsop; Brunts School, Mansfield; Model Village Primary School, Shirebrook; Kingsway Primary School, Kirkby; Annesley Primary School; Carsic Primary School, Sutton; Selston C of E Infant and Nursery School; Sutton Centre Community College; John Davies Primary School, Huthwaite; Morvern Park Primary School, Kirkby; Bramley Vale Primary School, Doe Lea; Bolsover School, Bolsover
