Pupils from the Mansfield Woodhouse school are taking part in the 10-week scheme to raise the game's awareness and introduce the sport in local schools.

The scheme aims to help young people develop skills and attitudes that will help them in all aspects of their future lives.

Said a school spokesman: "All the children had a great time and skills such as team building are now being transferred from the cricket pitch and into the classroom."
