Former Nottinghamshire cricket stars Mike Hendrick and Andy Afford have been appointed as part-time bowling coaches at Trent Bridge.
Hendrick, who will work with the club's seam bowlers, played 30 Tests for England and previously held a similar position with Derbyshire.
He enjoyed a distinguished three-year spell at Notts between 1982 and 1984 and was appointed team manager in
1992.
Afford played 170 first class fixtures for Nottinghamshire, his only major club, taking 468 wickets.
"We've got three relatively young spinners at the club in Graeme White, Samit Patel and Akhil Patel and I felt that it was important to appoint a coach who can give them the benefit of a wealth of experience and Andy fits that bill," said Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell.
"These are part-time roles and I wanted to recruit local people with strong ties to the club.
"I'm very pleased with both appointments.
"Mike does a lot of work with the England age group sides and is very well respected in the game."
Hendrick replaces another former Notts star, Andy Pick, who has taken on a role with the ICC in Canada.
Bilal Shafayat has agreed a new one-year deal with Nottinghamshire.
The top order batsmen scored 485 runs in 13 LV County Championship matches last season.
His season-best knock of 69 came in Nottinghamshire's draw with Hampshire in August.
"Bilal offers competition amongst the batsmen and he's our back-up wicket keeper so there's an important role for him to play in our squad," said Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell.
"He had a disappointing season in 2009 and he's keen to contribute more next year." We've had a few discussions and he's very keen to compete for a place here because it's his home town club."
