Grimsby Borough arrived at Carnarvon Street hoping to get a good result to take them into their League Cup semi-final on Tuesday which put a different slant on a clash that would otherwise have looked a typical end of the season game.
But they ended up losing 1-0 to Teversal.
It was the visitors who settled to start the brightest and could have taken an early lead had Creer produce a better strike when put in by an excellent ball from Buckthorpe.
Then Hutchinson cut in from
the left to fire a fierce strike that smashed into the sidenetting.
The home side started to get into the game after the early warnings, with Robinson and Atkins in wide positions being the outlet and route forward.
On 36 minutes the home side took the lead when Plumbe switched the play with an excellent ball that found Atkins in space before cutting in to fire an excellent effort against the inside of the post with Gee-Pemberton then bundling the ball home while under pressure from Short.
On the stroke of half-time, Teversal nearly doubled their lead when Plumbe sent Gee-Pemberton clear.
And, as the visitor's keeper closed him down, the striker lifted his effort over the Grimsby custodian only for the ball to go to safety after hitting the base of the Borough post.
The second half really did take the tone of an end of season game with Teversal continuing to dominate the game with Jono Wilson in the Teversal goal playing more like a sweeper than a goalkeeper, clearing any over hit or stray passes from the visitors.
For all the possession Tevie had, they didn't create enough goal scoring opportunities.
And Lee Graves was happy and confident in making routine saves to keep the home side's lead to a single goal when it should have been of greater substance as a measure of their dominance.
Teversal next game is a home fixture when Glasshougthon Welfare visits Carnarvon Street for the penultimate game of the season on Saturday (3pm).
