COULD this strange sighting be a UFO hovering above the skies of Sutton?
The mystery image was spotted high above the town by Chad reader John Gregory, of Burn Street, shortly after 10pm on 2nd May, and appears to show a moon like image with a nose, mouth and eyes.

Bemused John today told Chad: "I was looking at the sky and saw this object because it was very bright. At first I thought it was a star but now I am not sure and would love to know what it was.

"It was very unusual and I was rather surprised to see it. It was very clear and could be seen for miles around. The image stayed in the sky for about 20 minutes and then just vanished and I have not seen it since.

"The image seemed to have a face, nose and a mouth, it was very strange and I have never seen anything like it before."

Of course it's a UFO. It's an object which was flying (ie not on the ground), and it has not been identified. Therefore, it is an Unidentified Flying Object.

I think “unconventional” flying object is a better term, and would prevent comments like the one before mine. I think ETV or “extraterrestrial vehicle” is also more appropriate if you believe it to be a space craft that is not manufactured on earth. However, I don’t think this was a spacecraft of any kind, it looks more like a reflection of light, earth plasma, or something naturally occurring that hasn’t been fully understood. Often times mainstream “UFO” pictures that make it to media sites are falsified or deliberately vague as to what they really are. Picture and Video evidence has no validity due to photo-shopping and the generally skeptical view of the public.

OUCH! If there was a Chad online court system, I would charge you with falsifying a Unsuitable Report. MY WORDS WILL LIVE ON.

I've read over the "terms and conditions" in submitting on this site, and I apologize for infringing on the rights of intellectual property, as I commented on a prior posting. My point was, new image-editing technology (and the generally skeptical view of the public) renders almost all UFO picture and videos as invalid evidence until scrutinized by one of those “experts” you always hear about, and even then, is taken extremely lightly. The only reason a government can cover something up for years and years, is that most people believe that would be impossible for them to do so. A self-keeping secret. This picture does not seem like a “spaceship” to me. It looks like an unexplained light in the sky, that could be anything, possible something yet to be discovered, and that discovery could lead to it being a spaceship. The more you look at pictures like this, you’ll find a remarkable consistent similarity between them all; No one has “discovered” what they are, and it appears they will go on, without explanation.

In order to comment properly I would first need to know the answer to the following question? That question is, "Was it a cloudy night?" If the answer was yes, I would have to say that to me it looks more like a spotlight, the kind used during an air raid or at a music concert or for advertising, shining from the ground, reflecting off of the clouds. If it was not cloudy, then I would really have to wonder the cause. My first instincts though, is that it is not extraterrestrial. MDnDenver
