LETTER: Incinerator campaign needs you - the fight isn't over

What a decision?

How can anybody give the green light to the building of an incinerator.
One of the main arguments when it was first proposed, and probably helped sway the Nottinghamshire County Council planning decision, was that they would not be investing millions of pounds building two waste-to-energy plasma gas incinerators at Tyne Tees if the technology did not work.

Well, to me it seems the technology does not work and that is why Air Products has pulled out and the plans for the Tyne Tees plants abandoned.

To now say the Bilsthorpe incinerator will be using slightly different technology that has been proven to work in a smaller scale in some far and distant country, with different laws, brings a wry smile to my face.

So to all the people of Bilsthorpe and surrounding parishes, the fight goes on.

So get along to the next RAGE meeting at Bilsthorpe Welfare tomorrow, Thursday, June 16, at 7pm.

It is the annual general meeting and the group will be looking for new members and for people to take positions on the committee to help fight the next step.
