LETTER: How can new order be enforced?

I applaud that the council is finally going to try and stamp out the ‘bad’ behaviour of some of our residents, but feel that this can never be successful.

How can this order be enforced?

It is all very well trying to ban people from spitting in public areas, cycling through pedestrian areas and smoking around children’s play areas, but who would police these actions?

Those who enforce these rules need to be there in order to catch people infringing these rules at the time they are being done.

Where are the police, the town centre wardens, dog wardens etc, because, from my point of view, they are seen very rarely about the town centre, or about the wider community of Mansfield.

Two weeks ago, I reported that someone had defecated near to my garage door.

Their two deposits are still there.

So I again ask, who will enforce these rules?

The council appears to be quick to point blame, but slow to act.
