I read last week’s Chad and was disappointed that nowhere was there any mention of the fantastic achievement of the students at Joseph Whittaker. I saw a lot about a play at Samworth Academy, I saw an article about an inspiring teen but why was not the front page story the world record performance of the school? The culmination of a year-long project to build a model car that not only beat but smashed the existing world record reaching an average speed 478.1mph beating the previous record by almost 200mph. A truly magnificent performance deserving of high praise and recognition. Does the area have so many world champions it can afford to ignore this fabulous effort?
I hope the council will consider recognising this group in some sort of civic reception maybe not akin to our Olympians but certainly deserving something.
