LETTER: Why doesn't council clean up cut grass?

We are constantly being told by the council to take all our litter home or dispose of it in the litter bins.

If we don’t do that, we will be fined for leaving our streets in a mess. However a lot of the mess we see is the council’s responsibility.
The main one is when the grass has been cut. The grass is left upon the pavements, footpaths and roads which means we are treading all of that into our homes.
I have mentioned it to a councillor who told me she had reported it, but the council told her the same excuse like it always does, ‘it has a lack of money’.

At one time everything would be cleared, so why can’t it be done now, including the overgrown brambles?
There should be no need to report any matters like this, it is the council’s responsibility.
I would be willing to bet that the area near to the Civic Centre is not covered in cut grass because it will be done correctly.
