Woman lost her front teeth after being attacked in Mansfield

A WOMAN is missing two front teeth after a would-be robber attacked her in a Mansfield street.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 9.20pm on Tuesday (5 February 2013) in Nottingham Road.

The 20-year-old victim was walking near Titchfield Park, opposite the Stonham Housing Association building, when a man grabbed her from behind and attempted to remove items from her pockets. She struggled free and he punched her in the face.

The man fled empty-handed leaving the injured woman nursing a bust lip. He had knocked two of her teeth out with the force of the punch.

The suspect is described as white, of slim build, and around 6ft tall. He is in his 20s and was wearing a hooded top.

Enquiries have been made in the area and police patrols have been stepped up to provide reassurance to the community and deter future incidents.
