POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman motorist died when her car collided with a lorry at Ompton on Sunday morning.
The crash happened just before 8am. The woman, who had been driving north along the A616, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No-one else was in the car, a Kia Venga. The driver of the lorry, which was travelling in the opposite direction, was not injured. No arrests have been made.
Police are keen to speak to the driver of another HGV, believed to be an Eddie Stobart lorry, which was not involved in the crash but is understood to have been travelling in front of the woman’s car.
It may be that the driver of that vehicle is unaware of the crash.
Anyone with any information about the crash should telephone Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 234.
