A woman had to be cut free from a car following a crash at Spion Kop early Sunday morning.
Firefighters from Edwinstowe and Warsop, and a specialist rescue unit from Tuxford, attended the scene this morning shortly before 5am.
The vehicle left the carriageway and hit what the fire service describe as ‘road furniture’.
It was reported that a male had been thrown from the vehicle and impaled.
He was tended to by the emergency services but a female also had to be extricated.
Both were left in the hands of the ambulance service, but it is thought both are in a critical condition.
The road remained closed for hours while an investigation was carried out.
