WARSOP is set for a new bowls and community centre after the facility was approved by councillors.
The new building is set to replace Longden Terrace Miners’ Welfare Club, following a decision by Mansfield District Council’s Planning Committee.
The community centre would provide a function room, café, IT suite, games room, gymnasium and meeting room.
There would also be an outdoor theatre and children’s area.
The existing bowling green will be retained in the same location.
Developers said they would tackle concerns raised by residents and police over anti-social behaviour at the site by blocking access to the site and installing CCTV.
Planners also extended outline planning permission for up to 11 dwellings at land off Old Sookholme Lane, Warsop.
