More than £120,000 has been given to support the local community in Farnsfield thanks to St Michael’s View, a new development from leading housebuilder Barratt Homes North Midlands.

The funding, which totals £124,993, comes as part of the planning agreements with Newark and Sherwood District Council and includes a £104,753 contribution towards the development of community facilities and a £20,240 contribution towards the provision of Suitable Alternative Natural Green Space (SANGS).

“Community investment is one of the most important aspects of any new housing scheme”, said John Dillon, managing Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands.

“To that end, we aim to contribute a great deal to the local community as our St Michael’s View development progresses, both in terms of the high-quality homes we will be building and the jobs we will be creating.

“We pride ourselves on being able to truly support the communities at our developments and we hope these section 106 contributions will have a positive impact on the lives of people who live in Farnsfield.”

Located on Cockett Lane in the quaint village of Farnsfield, surrounded by acres of beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside, but within easy reach of Mansfield, Newark and Nottingham, St Michael’s View offers homebuyers the best of both worlds.

Farnsfield itself is a desirable location offering a great choice of amenities, including a greengrocer, local convenience store, butchers, bakers and a Co-op. The bustling local high street holds all of the shops you would expect to find, not to mention a variety of pubs and restaurants to choose from.

Construction work at the development has now begun with a number of homes been released for sale early due to demand.
