Village post office no longer moving

Plans to move a village post office branch to a nearby pub have been scrapped following a consultation.

A six-week public consultation to explore moving Walesby Post Office, in Main Street, to the Carpenters Arms, in Boughton Road in the village ended on 12th December 2013.

The Post Office had hoped that the new location would have led to longer opening hours.

A spokesman said: After careful consideration we have decided not to proceed with the proposed move of Walesby Post Office to The Carpenters Arms and the branch will continue to operate from its existing location.”
