This weekend sees the popular Buzzy B Club kick off a week of 40th birthday celebrations at Mansfield’s Four Seasons Shopping Centre, with a family themed day of fun and festivities proving a hit with shoppers and their children.

The centre is turning 40-years-old on Wednesday, March 9, and to celebrate the shopping centre held a 70s themed birthday party with games, including pass the parcel and musical chairs, 70s hairstyles and make overs, cupcake and party hat decorating, balloon animals, and much more.

Barbara Durose and Diane Williams get into the spirit of the celebrations when they donned 70's gear to do their jobs of keeping the Four Seasons Shopping Centre clean and tidy for it's 40th birthday bash on Saturday.

Centre Manager at Four Seasons, Rebekah O’Neill, said: “We’ve had a lot of fun preparing for our 40th birthday, and it’s great to see so many people coming along to join in the excitement.

“With our birthday celebrations falling the same weekend as Mother’s Day this year, we decided to make it a bumper two days of fun.

“Yesterday, Saturday, March 5, we’ve already had hundreds of people come along to the centre to help us mark our landmark occasion, and the Buzzy B Club has led dozens of children in birthday activities, making their own party hats and decorating cupcakes to take home with them.

“Then today, Sunday, March 6, again between 11am and 3pm, our ‘Buzzy Bs’ will be able to decorate and personalise a porcelain flowerpot with paints and stickers for Mother’s Day. “Children will then be able to plant a flower in the finished pot and take it home in a decorated gift bag – and all for free.”

Now in its 8th year, the hugely popular Buzzy B Club has a regular programme of activities throughout the year, each with a different theme and usually including a craft workshop so that children are able to take something away with them.

Rebekah added: “This weekend’s club is extra special because it forms part of our week of 40th birthday celebrations so there’s a real party atmosphere as we gear up for the centre’s big birthday bash.”
