Two hospitalised after Huthwaite crash

Two people were taken to hospital following a crash in Huthwaite this afternoon, Monday 13th January.

Crews from Ashfield Fire Station and specialist rescue units from Highfields were called out at 1.32pm to Common Road where two cars had collided.

A female driver had managed to free herself from a VW Passat estate car prior to the emergency services arriving, while a 64-year-old man had to be extricated by the fire service.

He had suffered a broken leg, while the weoman is not through to have had any serious injury. Both were taken to hospital by ambulance.

It is thought the accident occured after a car had pulled out onto the carriageway.
