A TODDLER was left seriously injured in a road crash at Skegby at the weekend.

The incident happened at around 9.50pm on Saturday in Mansfield Road, near its junction with Saville Road, when a Ford Escort was in collision with a Honda Civic.

The injured two-year-old, who was the passenger in the Escort, was taken to King’s Mill Hospital with serious injuries. Her condition is now described as stable.

The two drivers — both women — and two other children — who were also passengers in the Escort — received medical treatment for minor injuries.

No one else was injured.

The road was closed while police carried out their enquiries. It was re-opened at around 1.30am on Sunday, 30th December.

Witnesses, or anyone with any information, are asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
