Tibshelf woman’s ‘thank you’ quilt

The quilt will be raffled off in aid of the Oncology Department at the City Hospital, which has been caring for Robert (64), since he was diagnosed with a carcinoid tumour on his pancreas, liver and spleen three years ago.

Sue (57) said: “I just felt I wanted to do a little something to help. If he wasn’t having the treatment he might not be here. We are really grateful to the NHS for what they do.”

The colourful quilt is being raffled off and tickets are priced at £2 per ticket. In addition, businesses are also being given the opportunity to buy ‘virtual’ squares, which will be sold at £50 per 16 squares.

After the raffle is complete, the charity plans on displaying the logos of the companies onto a large poster of the quilt that will then be displayed throughout the hospital.
