An external audit of all Bolsover District Council’s services has found that they are providing ‘excellent’ services to their local communities.

The council underwent the Government’s Customer Service Excellence Standard inspection in April and successfully retained the standard which they first received back in 2011.

Bolsover District Council Leader Coun Eion Watts said: “We welcome any external inspection of our services and activities and we are delighted to have retained this Standard.

“As a Council we are here to serve our local communities and provide them with good quality, customer focused and cost efficient services which we put a great deal of time and resources into –and we feel this is reflected in this achievement.”

“The results speak for themselves, but don’t get me wrong, we know we are not perfect, and there are areas where we need to improve, which we will deal with, but the results show that we are consistently providing good quality services around customer needs,”

The Council was inspected against 57 elements, of which they received compliance plus against 1, were fully compliant against 49 and partially compliant against 7.

The five main criteria of the Customer Service Excellence Standard are customer insight, organisational culture, information and access, delivery of services, timeliness and quality of services.
