Three in court over £10,000 lead theft from Newstead Abbey

THREE people charged in connection with the theft of £10,000 worth of lead from Newstead Abbey will have their case heard at crown court.

Gurshoron Singh Bhattie (30) of Cornerpin Drive, Kirby-in-Ashfield, is charged with the theft of the lead drainpipes and handling stolen goods.

Emma Louise Foy (30) also of Cornerpin Drive and Frances McShane of Millbank Place, Bestwood Village, are both charged with handling stolen goods.

All three appeared together at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Friday, but no pleas were entered.

They are due to return on 29th June where it is expected that the case will be committed to Nottingham Crown Court.
