The Chad editorial team is on the look-out for a new home for its archives which date back to the 1950s - and we need the community’s help.
The newspaper recently moved from its office on Newgate Lane to new premises on Southwell Road East.
News editor Stephen Thirkill, who put out an appeal on BBC Radio Nottingham on Friday, said: “Modern offices are not always designed to have a great deal of storage space so we need to find somewhere to store our archives, which are a valuable record of the history of the Mansfield and Ashfield area.
“We have tried a number of places but they do not have the space. These archives shed light on how times have changed, for example, some editions have adverts for cigarettes. It would be great if a local history group could help us accommodate them.”
