Teens may hold key to Rainworth robbery

Police think two teenagers may have seen robbers who struck at a newsagent’s shop in Rainworth.

It happened at around 8.10pm on Monday 30th December at the Nisa Local store, in Southwell Road East, when a masked group stole cigarettes. No-one was injured.

When they made off in a black Audi, two teenager girls and an elderly man were seen in the vicinity. Detectives think they may be able to help them with their investigation.

Connor Watson, of Welstead Avenue in Aspley, Nottingham has been charged with robbery. The 20-year-old has been remanded in custody.

Four others — three men, aged 24, 26 and 27, and a 30-year-old woman — arrested in connection with the incident remain on bail, pending further enquiries.
