Taxi driver may have witnessed attempted burglary

Police are appealing to a taxi driver who may have information about an attempted burglary in Eakring last month, to come forward.

It is thought a burglar tried to break into an address in Wellow Road by smashing a window between 9.30am and 12.45pm on Tuesday 8th February.

The burglar failed to gain entry and nothing was stolen.

Officers have been conducting house-to-house enquiries in the area.

A number of witnesses said they saw a man behind the wheel of a taxi parked near to the address at around 10.30am.

Officers believe the man may have vital information and have been trying to trace him since the incident happened and are asking for the public’s help to find him.

The taxi was a light-coloured car, possibly an estate, and had taxi markings.
