A prolific thief has been sentenced to prison less than 48 hours after his arrest.
Kieron Millin (33) was arrested at his home in Chatsworth Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, on Monday (20th May).
Millin had been wanted by police for a number of offences in the Sutton area.
These incldued stealing copper from the roof of a building in Oddicroft Lane as well a toolbox containing equipment worth more than £1,000.
He broke into the Nags Head Pub, in Low Street, and stole bottles of spirits and stole a cycle chain from a shop in Station Road.
Following investigation work officers arrested Millin at his home where he was found in possession of amphetamines.
Millin admitted theft, burglary and possession of drugs during an interview and within 12 hours of his arrest he was charged and remanded to court.
He appeared before Mansfield magistrates on Tuesday (21st May), where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four months in prison.
Inspector Andy Clarke said: “This is a great result and demonstrates how we work relentlessly to pursue offenders.
“Here effective policing and teamwork with our partner organisations has removed a persistent offender off the streets within hours of an arrest.”
