SUTTON Rambling Club continue their wide ranging winter programme with a spectacular 12 mile linear walk in the Dark Peak area on Sunday 22nd January.
Highlights will be the great views from Win Hill and Stanage Edge.
The ramble will start from the village of Hope and head north east making a gradual ascent on to Win Hill.
The route then follows a broad ridge and wonderful scenery can be enjoyed with Edale to the west and the Ladybower reservoirs and the moors to the north.
The group then descend south east down to the river Derwent and on to the village of Bamford for a lunch break.
In the afternoon the walkers move eastwards across to Hurst Clough and then north onto the gritstone moorland of Stanage Edge.
More great views to absorb looking over into the attractive Hope valley and beyond.
The final section of the route will follow Burbage Rocks adjacent to Carl Wark and Higger Tor finishing at the Fox House Inn, near the Longshaw estate for a 5pm departure home.
The group are always pleased to welcome new members who can look forward to a day of healthy exercise, attractive scenery and friendly company.
The McEwens coach leaves the Staff of Life pub on Hack Lane in Sutton at 9.15am and the Bancroft Lane end, Stockwell Gate in Mansfield at 9.30am.
There are other pick up points en route. The coach fare is £9, accompanied juniors free. There is no need to pre-book your seat on the coach.
