A 23-year-old man has been released without charge after being arrested on suspicion of the murder of 28-year-old Dean Lloyd, of Market Street, Huthwaite.

Mr Lloyd died of a single stab wound following an incident at an address in Jephson Road, Sutton, on Friday 14th January.

Detectives say that the 23-year-old had been on police bail while detectives continued their investigation and prepared a case file for the Crown Prosecution Service’s Complex Case Unit.

Having reviewed the available evidence, the Crown Prosecution Service decided that there was insufficient evidence to charge the man with any criminal offence.

The 23-year-old was informed of the Crown Prosecution Service’s decision when he answered bail on Tuesday morning.

Michael Thorley (31), of Elderfield Drive, Sutton, and Shawn Thorley (23), of Mapplewells Crescent, Sutton, have today been charged with aggravated burglary in connection with the incident. They have both been released on police bail to appear at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 16th March.
