A programme to get more people into the leisure industry is being launched by Bolsover District Council.
The Sports Training and Education Programme, also known as STEP, is launching a series of workshops across the district.
Delivered by Sports Coach UK-qualified tutors, including equity in your coaching, fundamentals of movement, safeguarding and protecting children, emergency aid and first steps into coaching.
Council officers will also deliver a Sports Leaders UK Day course. All the courses will last between two and three hours and cost between £20 and £30.
Workshop attendees will receive a certificate of attendance as well as a resource pack or handouts, containing further information and useful contacts.
Bolsover District Council’s cabinet member for social inclusion, Coun Ann Syrett said: “The workshops provide ideal opportunities for individuals to develop their knowledge, keep up to date with any changes and share good practice and we recommend you book early to secure a place.
“Our main aim is to get as many people as possible qualified in a variety of disciplines. This will not only give them the platform to take their first steps into the leisure industry but also benefit the local sports clubs and organisations across the District.”
