Stallholders needed for environment day in Mansfield
A brand new environmental shopping initiative is coming to the Materials Recovery Facility in Mansfield.
Veolia Environmental Services (Nottinghamshire County Council’s waste management contractor) and Nottinghamshire’s Queen of Easy Green™, Lyndsey Young, are hosting a one day event that will celebrate independent, sustainable artists, designers and local producers from all over Nottinghamshire and the surrounding area.
The event runs on Saturday 9th March between 10am and 4pm in Forest Town.
Kevin Parker, regional communications manager for Veolia Environmental Services, said: “We’re hosting the event in the unique setting of the Materials Recovery Facility Education Centre in Forest Town.
“We want to attract a variety of stallholders who produce environmentally-friendly crafts, ethically-sourced goods, local food produce and recycled designs. If anyone out there is interested in reserving a stall, then please get in touch.”
He added: “Visitors will also be invited to take an internal tour of our Materials Recovery Facility and take the opportunity to see, at first hand, how mixed recyclable waste is sorted and baled before being sent on to be made into something new’.
This is the first such initiative that links together an operational facility, sustainable produce and the general public.
