A HOST of former Mansfield Town stars will be attending a charity fundraising event in the town next Friday.
Ex-Stags Kevin Bird, Sandy Pate and Colin Foster will be among several former players joining regulars at the Kings Arms pub on Newgate Lane to raise money for Mansfield Town FC’s academy team and the Kings Arms football team on 2nd September.
The event will include a race night, raffle, music, refreshments of hot dogs and mushy peas as well as a karaoke competition across the road at the Pop Inn.
The pub has held several fundraising events in the past for charities including war charity Help for Heroes and landlord Jeremy Booth expects a good turn out.
“We’re really looking forward to the night, it should smashing with the music, the right people and the right atmosphere,” he said.
“The event is free to get and anybody can come along to the night.
“We’re hoping for up to six or seven for Mansfield Town stars from the 1970s and 1980s.”
The night starts at 8pm with the racing event set to run until around 10.45pm.
