Spate of thefts in Blidworth

POLICE are reminding motorists to remove valuables from their vehicles following a spate of thefts in Blidworth.

After more than a year since the last report of this kind in the area, there were four reported thefts in December.

Three happened during the day in car parks at Rigg Lane and Blidworth Lane.

The latest took place on 28th December, on land near Blidworth Bottoms, when the window of an Audi was smashed and loose change stolen.

Anyone in the area between 11am and 1pm that day who may have seen saw anything suspicious is being asked to call police.

People are being urged to make sure the windows are closed and doors are locked, as well as making sure nothing is left on display that could attract a thief, including satellite navigation units, laptops, mobile phones, hand bags or cash.

To report any suspicious activity to Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
