THE unseasonable snow is due to come to an end today according to weather forecasters, but the icy temperatures are here to stay for a little longer.
The Met Office’s forecast for Mansfield says that snow flurries will gradually die out today, with the chance of some brighter intervals developing in places later.
It will continue very cold with a brisk easterly wind and temperatures struggling to get above freezing, and will feel more like minus 8 in the bitterly cold wind.
The gritters have been out and most buses are running on their normal routes but East Midlands Airport has closed its runway so flights have been cancelled.
The areas parks are again expected to be full of sledgers and snowmen as residents enjoy the snowfall.
