A green-fingered teen is helping to raise money after growing a huge pumpkin from seed.
James Maxey (15) grew the giant fruit which won first prize at a recent ploughing match in Southwell.
The Southwell Minster pupil grew it using a seed given to him by his grandmother from a Canadian pumpkin that weighed 1,000lb.
It is now on display at Maxey’s Farm Shop, Hockerton Road, Kirklington, where people are being asked to guess the weight to raise money for breast cancer.
Tickets are £1 and the nearest person will win a goody bag from the shop.
