Slimming World has their cake and eats it for Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning!

Generous head office staff from Alfreton-based slimming organisation Slimming World took part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning onto raise funds for the charity.

Employees at Slimming World’s head office in Somercotes, Alfreton, held a bring-and-buy sale of home-baked treats like cupcakes, carrot cakes and coconut tarts which raised over £68 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Top baker and team leader Sharon Coope who organised the event said: “Staff at Slimming World are always big-hearted and we love nothing better than pulling together for charity. It may seem odd that as a slimming company we enjoy eating cake – even if it is for a charity event and that’s what’s so great about Slimming World!

“Anyone following our Food Optimising eating plan knows that you can have your cake – and eat it – because the plan is based on healthy eating while still enjoying occasional treats in moderation.”
