TWO local authors have each published new books recently.
Roy Bainton’s latest is ‘Good Time Charleys’, which is about the tough tales from rhythm and blues.
The book takes a look at the origins and rise of rhythm and blues music and the shocking way in which famous artists were treated by the record producers, the promoters and the managers.
Roy writes with enthusiasm about a subject which is obviously dear to his heart.
The paperback costs £12.99 from www.lulu.com or www.nottinghambooks.co.uk or as a download from lulu.com for £3.97.
Janet Roberts has just published her first adult novel. ‘Every 4 Minutes’ is the story of Clifford, who, two years after a visit to India, is diagnosed with leprosy, for which there is no cure.
He chooses to return to a leper colony in India where he sets about improving life both for himself and for the child he has befriended.
This is available only in a Kindle edition, downloadable from Amazon.co.uk for £1.14. All profits from the book will go to Lepra- Health in Action.
