A KIRKBY girl who is battling aplastic anaemia has been given the best Christmas present of all - the chance to meet her heroes, dance group Diversity.
Jordan Winter (12) was diagnosed with the blood condition - where bone marrow does not produce sufficient new cells to replenish blood cells - in February and has since undergone chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.
As a result, Jordan has not been able to do the things she enjoys doing, such as swimming or going out with her friends, and has been unable to go to school due to the risk of infection.
So, in order to cheer her up at a difficult time, the Rays of Sunshine children’s charity granted Jordan her dream wish and arranged for her to meet the winners of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, dance troupe Diversity.
The group invited Jordan to their dance studios earlier this month and taught her some of their moves.
Jordan’s mum Amanda said: “The wish was fantastic. It was perfect actually.
“The boys from Diversity were really friendly and they taught Jordan a few moves.
“The day was great and I really appreciate that Rays of Sunshine took professional photos for us to remember it.”
Rays of Sunshine grants the wishes of children living with serious and lifelimiting illnesses in the UK.
As part of the wish, the charity arranged for Jordan, her brother Stanley, mum and stepdad Gavin to travel to London, where they were collected and taken to the Hilton Metropole Hotel for their stay.
The family had the afternoon free to do what they liked before having dinner at a restaurant of Jordan’s choice.
The next morning, dressed in a new outfit, also bought courtesy of the charity, Jordan and her family were collected by limousine and driven in style to Dancework Studios where Jordan met her idols.
On arrival, Jordan was met by Jordan and Perri from the group, who showed her around the studios where they rehearse, as well as the costume department where Jordan was given a signed cap worn by one of the boys.
Jordan was then joined by the rest of Diversity who took her through some of their dance moves.
And as an added bonus, Jordan was given lots of signed merchandise to take away with her, before the family were whisked away by limousine and taken for lunch at Planet Hollywood.
