Shop staff raise cash for brave kids

GENEROUS staff at The Co-operative Food Store in Shirebrook have managed to bank more than £4,000 for Mencap - a leading charity that supports young people with learning disabilities.

Team members organised a range of events and collections throughout the year and proved to be one of the highest earners of Co-operative branches in Nottinghamshire.

The money raised is being used to launch the ‘Inspire Me’ project which provides activities and training that gives young people with a learning disabilities the chance to learn new skills and gain access to employment.

Phil Burton, operations manager for The Co-operative Food in Shirebrook, said: “The teams have done a fantastic job putting the fun into fundraising, and I’d like to congratulate them all.”
