The organisers behind this year’s Selston Summer Festival have hailed it a success after it raised £600 for the Tin Hat community centre.
The family event, organised by the Tin Hat Centre, attracted more than 300 visitors who were able to enjoy raffles, stalls and pirate activities.
There were also various workshops which included self defence, meditation drumming and Tai Chi, while the under-fives were entertained by Gulliver’s Kingdom and Sure Start activities.
Competitions included Best Fancy Dress, Best Victoria Sponge and Best Flower Arrangement, as well as an art competition judged by Coun Gail Turner and Ken Jones and prizes were donated by E-on. The Tin Hat Centre worked with Sure Start and the leisure centre.
