Nottinghamshire County Council’s Rufford Abbey Country Park will be lit up like the starry sky when it celebrates its Winter Aurora Illuminations from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th January, 6-8pm.
The illuminations were originally planned for December but were postponed due to the bad weather.
Nottinghamshire Co Coun John Cottee, Cabinet Member for Culture and Community, said: “Our winter illuminations are always really popular and everyone was disappointed that the event had to be cancelled due to adverse weather. I am pleased that we’ve been able to reschedule the event as it gives visitors a chance to experience Rufford Abbey Country Park’s gardens lit up and transformed into a winter wonderland.”
Linda Hardy, Rufford Abbey Country Park Visitor Services Manager, added: “The Aurora Illuminations show off our gardens, literally in a new light. Hidden features are revealed, and large trees become spectacular living sculptures. This is a family friendly event and we encourage people to walk around the trails through the winter garden and experience hidden surprises and vivid colours at every turn.”
Tickets are only available on the day – the last entry is 7.45pm.
