RETIRING headteacher Dennis Hoult bid a goodbye to pupils, staff and governors at Lake View Primary School in Rainworth over Easter.

He has been in charge for more than 12 years and received gifts and cards from his school colleagues and pupils gave a special assembly to mark his departure.

Dennis thanked everyone for giving him such a send off and wished the school all the best for the future.

“A huge thank you to all staff, pupils, parents and governors for your thoughts and good wishes on my retirement,” he said.

“I would also like to thank you all for the many brilliant cards and also the thoughtful presents that I have received.

“It has been a great privilege to be the headteacher at Lake View Primary School and I would like to thank you all for your valued support over the last 12 plus years.

“I, no doubt, will see many of you around and about and will look forward to hearing about how well my ex-pupils are doing.

“I shall also be visiting school to do some 1 to 1 maths tuition in the coming weeks.”
