Residents views sought on Parish Council plans for Langwith area

Residents in Langwith, Whaley Thorns, Upper Langwith and Langwith Junction are being given the opportunity to make comments on proposals to create a new parish council for their villages.

A petition – signed by over 300 residents – was received by Bolsover District Council to undertake a Community Governance Review into whether or not to establish a new council.

The villages are currently served by Scarcliffe Parish Council and after reviewing the request the district authority is proposing to create a new Parish of Langwith with three wards electing four councillors per ward, and to change the warding arrangements for Scarcliffe Parish with two wards electing four councillors per ward.

Residents have until 30th April to comment by {http://www.askderbyshire.gov.uk/bolsover/ComGovRevScarcliffe2 |clicking here|consultation}
