Queen thanks New Bolsover Primary School pupils for birthday card

LITTLE Abigail Rushby is over the moon at receiving a special thank you letter from the Queen after she made a birthday card for Her Majesty.

The six-year-old, a pupil at New Bolsover Primary School, teamed up with her grandma, Freda Rushby, to make the glittery card showing the Queen and Buckingham Palace.

The monarch, who turned 85 on Saturday, was so impressed with the greeting she sent a letter to Abigail, thanking her for the ‘wonderful card’.

Abigail’s mum, Julie, from North View Street, Carr Vale, said: “It’s such a beautiful letter.

“When she saw it, Abigail was beaming – she was over the moon.

“All her friends and family are very impressed.”

Julie added that Abigail wanted to make the card as she is ‘obsessed’ with all things royal.

“She was glued to the recent wedding between William and Kate,” she said.
