Golfers at Horsley Lodge Golf Club have raised an impressive £6,000 to be split equally between two charities. The day, organised by Purpose Media, will go towards Jigsaw in Mansfield and Sheffield Blood Cancer Research Trust..
Sixty-four golfers took part in the challenge and raised money through entrance fees, raffles and competitions that included racing around a mini-scalextric race track, putting competition, and beat the pro.
The event was organised by Purpose Media and golfers competed for two prizes while also raising the charity funds.
The prizes included the chance to win a £30,000 Jaguar car, two golf holidays and a set of golf clubs in a hole in one competition. A team from Stopfords Accountants recorded a worthy winning score of 86 points. Alison Clarke, of Jigsaw, said: “Jigsaw offers support, befriending, information & social outings to help vulnerable people in Mansfield and Ashfield to continue living independently. We are extremely grateful to have been chosen as a beneficiary.”
