WARSOP folk will soon benefit from a post office with longer opening hours and more serving positions.
The upgrade is part of a three-year nationwide investment programme to see branches modernised across the country.
Warsop’s High Street branch will have a mixture of one screened counter position, two open plan and a Post Office serving point at the retail counter.
In order for work to go ahead the branch will be closed until Saturday, when it will be re-open for business as usual at 9am.
During the refurbishment alternate post offices are Church Warsop and Shirebrook.
Adrian Wales, Post Office Regional Network Manager for Central England, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Warsop and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
He added: “This modernisation is the largest in the history of the Post Office.
“This investment makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
Opening hours extended by five hours a week. They are now Monday-Saturday from 9am to 5.30pm.
