SOUTH Normanton’s Post Mill Centre is more than a community hall it is a multi-function venue to suit all occasions for all people.

From humble beginnings it has grown into a fabulous facility the whole community can enjoy and benefit from with its top class interiors, which can be adapted according to the event as well as a play park and patio.

The centre has become a big part of the community and surrounding areas leading to organisations such as Derby County Council and Derbyshire health services using us for conferences and training events.

From personal parties to business meetings, weddings to corporate events, fairs to music spectaculars, they can all be catered for at the Post Mill Centre and every event can be tailored to suit each customer’s needs.

The centre has a new manager at its helm steering it into a calendar of events leading up to the festive season and beyond. Tracey Cannon has lived in the district all her life, knows the people and shares a commitment to make The Post Mill Centre everyone’s first choice.

“I am passionate about the Post Mill and its role within the local community,” said Tracey. “I also care about making it the best venue in the district and attracting new clients from further afield to show them our fantastic venue and all we have to offer.”

One of the reasons The Post Mill Centre, is such a success and attracting different groups and businesses from across the area, is because of the superb surroundings and the excellent team behind the scenes.

“We have a terrific team of people who work together to ensure the events run smoothly,” added Tracey. “They are a highly committed group of individuals who offer an efficient and friendly, yet professional service.”

Some of the events lined up in the coming weeks include a Shadow of Motown Night on Saturday 15th October. This top theatre show features a seven piece band playing some Motown favourites from The Supremes to The Four Tops and many more.

Tickets are £10 each, or £8.50 if buying eight or more, and are available by calling the centre direct or through their website (www.postmillcentre.co.uk). Doors open at 7pm.

For the more creative, a Festive Craft Fair is to be held on Sunday 13th November from 11-4pm. This promises to be a great opportunity to buy some unique gifts for Christmas and give you some creative ideas to make your own cards and crafts.

A full variety of crafts people will be attending offering many different products for sale. Everything from Christmas decorations to puppets, glassmaking to cakes.

Entry is free and refreshments can be purchased on site. If you would like to hold a stall at a cost of £10, please contact the centre.

“We are a multi-functional centre meeting the needs of the community by offering local entertainment for local people,” added Tracey. “But because of our close links with the M1 (J28) and A38 as well as our on-site catering facilities, we are an ideal solution for business clients and wedding receptions too.”

“The Post Mill Centre offers high quality function rooms at competitive rates giving excellent value for money,” said Tracey. “I look forward to welcoming local people and those from the wider community.”
